ELECTIONS FOR EVANS CITY COUNCIL 

The City Clerk's Office administers the regular Municipal Elections for the Evans City Council in April of even-numbered years. Specifically, the Charter guides regular municipal elections as follows: “Regular municipal elections shall be held on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in April in the even numbered years…”(Pursuant to Section 2.1 of the Evans Home Rule) 

The next Regular Municipal Election is scheduled for April 7, 2020.

Section 2.4 of the Evans Charter also requires the City Clerk to provide prior notice of an election in accordance with federal, state, or municipal law, whichever is applicable. 

REGISTERING TO VOTE 

The Weld County Clerk and Recorder maintains voting records. If you have questions about your voter status or need more information about registering to vote, please call the Weld County Clerk and Recorder's Election Division at (970) 304-6525. You must meet the following requirements to register to vote:

  • Be a United States Citizen;
  • Be 18 years old on or before the date of the election; and
  • Reside in Colorado and at your present address at least 22 days before the election. 

Listed below are several ways for voters to update their address and voter registration to ensure that mail ballots are received at the correct address: 

  • Visit the website of the Colorado Secretary of State;
  • Visit the website of the Weld County Elections Department;
  • Visit any Colorado Driver's License Office;
  • Visit the Evans City Clerk's Office; or
  • Print, sign, and return this form to the Weld County Clerk & Recorder by mail, fax, or email:

CHANGE OF ADDRESS
There are several ways to register to vote or change your address:

  • Visit the office of the Weld County Clerk & Recorder, Election Department.
  • Visit the City Clerk's office.
  • Visit any Colorado Driver's License office.
  • Register by mail. Mail-in forms are available at all of the above locations. Required forms need to be sent to: Weld County Clerk & Recorder, P.O. Box 459, Greeley CO 80632.
